After placing the cover on the still soft mattress, I filled to desired firmness. While the top part of the cover is like a cozy quilt, the bottom part, or the part that you lay on is a little thin, and the mattress still felt too cool to me. I have a double sized, fleece, bed sack that we will most likely use inside this cover for warmth. It is also nice to lay on the quilted top as well. This really makes it feel like a pillow top mattress! It is handy that the cover zips open on both sides for 2 people climbing in bed. The cover came with a carrying bag, but we could not get in back in no matter how hard we tried, so we had to substitute another bag. There is nothing else out there that we have found even close to this fitted cover that was in this price range. FYI, this cover was only listed with one particular air mattress, but I checked the specs and it fit wonderfully on a different bed. Highly recommended.
